Our Story
The Journey Of RCCG New Covenant
A testimony of God's faithfulness from a humble beginning to a thriving youth church impacting lives across generations.
RCCG New Covenant was planted on April 15, 2015 as The Covenant Youth Sanctuary, Adebayo, Ado-Ekiti, under the leadership ofPastor Busayo Oluwabusiwa in the then Ekiti Province 4.
The ministry began in a modest 100-seater hall at Osekita Junction. Following a three-day power-packed crusade, the church officially commenced with seven pioneer workers who laid the spiritual foundation for what God would continually build.

Under Pastor Soji Afinjuomo's leadership, the church embraced a strong culture of spiritual awakening, human capacity development, and aggressive evangelism. These foundations encouraged steady growth and established a monthly service structure that continues today: Celebrating Jesus Service, Victory Service, Relationship & Family Service, and Variety Service.
Exactly one year after the church was planted, increasing attendance made expansion necessary. The ministry moved to a leased property beside the original venue where a temporary worship structure was erected. Shortly after the first anniversary, leadership transitioned to Pastor Olawale Babalola, whose ministry emphasized hospitality, project development, spiritual growth, and stability.
The journey, however, was not without challenges. Land disputes forced another relocation. The new site inherited an existing structure which was destroyed during a heavy rainstorm. A second construction also collapsed in May 2017. Refusing to give up, the church built a third and stronger auditorium that faithfully served as the main worship centre from 2017 until 2024.
In October 2018, another significant leadership transition occurred asPastor Gbenga Akinbolaassumed leadership. His tenure has been marked by transformational growth, guided by four major pillars:

With Pastor Gbenga's leadership, the church entered a remarkable season of explosive growth. Attendance during major programmes often exceeded 700 worshippers, while numerous lives were transformed through discipleship, youth development, outreach, and kingdom service.
December 2024 marked another historic milestone as RCCG New Covenant moved into its permanent worship site—a dream fulfilled through God's faithfulness. This accomplishment became the launchpad for an even greater vision for the future.
As the ministry celebrates its 10th Anniversary, plans are underway for the construction of a1,000-seat digital auditorium, symbolizing not only structural expansion but a renewed commitment to raising a generation sold out to God's purpose.
From a humble 100-seat hall to a thriving congregation on a permanent site, RCCG New Covenant continues to stand as a testimony of God's grace, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to raising a generation that will impact the world for Christ.

2015
The Beginning
RCCG Covenant Youth Sanctuary was established on April 15, 2015, with a vision to reach students and young people with the Gospel and help them discover God's purpose for their lives.
2016–2018
Growth & Establishment
The ministry grew steadily as young believers were discipled, leaders emerged, and a strong spiritual culture was established within the church community.
2019–2021
Raising Leaders
Through mentorship, discipleship, and kingdom service, the church continued raising young men and women equipped to lead and make a difference in their generation.
2022–2024
Expanding Impact
The ministry experienced greater influence through outreach, discipleship initiatives, special programs, and a growing commitment to kingdom excellence.
2025
